(As expected Garcia Foods in Brawley and El Centro has closed)….Earlier in the year K X O News reported the family owned Supermarket would close all three locations, in Calexico, Brawley and El Centro. At the time, the Imperial Irrigation District had said they would be losing the pay stations at the Markets. It was predicted the Markets would be closed by September. It took a little longer to happen, but it happened. Garcia closed their doors in Brawley and El Centro just after Thanksgiving. The Calexico Supermarket closed in June. The buildings in Brawley and El Centro will not remain vacant very long. La Bonita Supermarkets out of San Diego has purchased both locations. La Bonita is expected to open at the first of the year… |
