(Resident help Brawley Police)…Saturday residents in the 1000 block of Walnut in Brawley called police to report a suspect burglary. Officers arrived and found three people inside the house in question. They were arrested at gunpoint. Lt. Bret Houser says another suspect did not go quietly. That suspect fled, and officers gave chase. The Lt. says as officers pursued the suspect through neighborhood yards, residents gave officers directions on the path taken by the suspect. Houser said the pursuing officers came to a resident in the 900 block of Birch. The resident told the officers his bedroom door was locked; when he had left it open. Officers investigated and inside the bedroom, they found the suspect. He was identified as 19-year-old Mario Banales. The man was booked into County jail. |
