(Shockey Fire near Campo 50% contained)…The wind swept fire was reported at 2:46 Tuesday morning at the Shockey Truck Trail, near Campo.

 Cal Fire immediately sent 37 Engines, and 273 personnel that included six crews; two water tenders, two dozers and two helicopters. At last report the blaze had scorched 100 acres as it headed west along both sides of Highway 94. The Department of Forestry says 1,500 homes were evacuated. No further evacuations are imminent and no structures are threatened by the fire. Officials, however, are remaining cautious. They say winds are expected to increase again in the area Tuesday afternoon.
