(Farm Bureau Annual Event Thursday)…The Annual Farm Bureau Banquet/Farmer of the Year Banquet will be held at the Stockman’s Club in Brawley. The Farm Bureau’s big party of the year begins at 5:30 in the evening. The event will include dinner and entertainment. The voting members of the Farm Bureau will also conduct a bit of business. They will be asked to approve a set of amended and restated bylaws. The main event of the night is the announcement of the 2008 Farmer of the Year. Tuesday the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution honoring the new recipients of the Jim Kuhn Memorial Farmer of the Year Award. They did so without revealing who the recipient will be. Chairman of the Board Gary Wyatt said the Supervisors knew who the 2008 Farmer of the Year, but it is a closely guarded secret until the name is revealed at the Banquet Thursday evening. |
