Charles Borchard, Chief Executive Officer of the California Midwinter Fair and Fiesta, resigned Wednesday. The Fair Board accepted the resignation , " with regret " Wednesday. " We are sorry to see Charlie resign, " said Board President Darrel Bostic. " He has a real passion for this fair and did a good job for us, especially in reconnecting with agriculture." Borchard has served as CEO of the Imperial Valley Expo and California Midwinter Fair since 2005. Planning for the 2009 fair, February 27 - March 8, 2009 , is moving forward. The fair board will be looking to fill the CEO position on an interim basis untill after the fair.
