(PILT will be fully funded)…That was the good news delivered by Supervisor Wally Leimgruber at this weeks Board meeting. The Payment in Lieu of Taxes are currently funded at 60 to 70 percent. The PILT funds are paid out by the Federal Government, who does not pay taxes on their land. Leimgruber said through the Federal Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, Counties and Cities across the Nation will receive 100% PILT funding. The District 5 Supervisor said the extra 30-40% could mean an extra $1 million that could be deposited into the Counties General Fund. |
