(High School Graduates being given strong reminder not to drink and drive)….Desert Oasis held their Graduation Ceremonies Wednesday night. Central Union High and Southwest Graduation Ceremonies are set for tonight. El Centro Police have set-up displays at the High School campuses on the possible consequences of drinking and driving. The displays include vehicles that were destroyed in traffic collisions involving drivers that used drugs or alcohol. Police say all three displays are barricaded by safety fencing and were positioned with a banner that reads, “Will this be you? Celebrate Sober.” Sergeant Jeff Mason says, additionally, after the Graduation Ceremonies the police traffic unit, along with school resource officers will be patrolling the city to ensure the safety of the young graduates. Mason says the teens are reaching a milestone and the police want to ensure they are around to begin the next chapter in their young lives. |
