El Centro apartment fire under investigation

(Posada del Sol fire suspicious)….Captain Whitlock of the El Centro Fire Department says the Sunday evening fire destroyed 4 apartments. He said 2 others suffered substantial smoke damage. The fire was reported at 6:30 Sunday evening. The Captain said he had to call in the engine assisting in the river bottom fire near Holtville. Whitlock said the apartment fire was started at a wooden fence outside the apartments. He said the cause is being investigated as suspicious. The Captain says no arrests have been made, but persons of interest are being sought, as the investigation is on going. Captain Whitlock said a cost estimate on the damage resulting from the fire has not yet been prepared. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire.
