El Centro - Accident Snarls Traffic

A three car accident Friday afternoon caused problems for El Centro commuters. The three car chain reaction accident occurred at about 4:30 Friday afternoon on northbound Imperial Avenue at the railroad tracks. A pick-up smacked into the rear of a car that ran into a van. A 19 year-old woman with a prior back injury was life-flighted from the scene to a San Diego hospital. Northbound traffic on Imperial Avenue was detoured for nearly two hours as El Centro Police investigated the collision.
