El Centro - 57-year-old man dies Monday

(An El Centro man dies from undetermined cause)….The County Coroners office says an autopsy will have to be performed to determine how 57-year-old Arturo Gutierrez died. Deputy Coroner Sergeant Charles Lucas says the El Centro resident passed away Monday. The Sergeant said he would not speculate on the cause. He said it could be any one of several possibilities. There were no signs of foul play, however. Lucas says his department has been able to identify the body found in the desert Friday, west of Mount Signal. The name of the 35-year-old man cannot be released until after his family is notified. Lucas is working with the Mexican Consulate in Calexico to get in touch with the family. It is suspected the man entered the U.S. illegally and possibly expired from the heat. Autopsies on both men will be conducted Friday.
