(Sunday night fire threatens restaurant)…El Centro Fire responded to the 11:45 pm fire at Jalisco’s Restaurant.

Battalion Chief Steve Wilson said it was a dumpster fire at 844 North Imperial Avenue. The Chief said because it was so close to the Restaurant, they took no chances. The department sent two engines and a truck. Once it was determined the fire had not spread to the roof, two of the units were released. Fire fighters made what they thought was an interesting find in the fire. Several bicycle parts were discovered in and around the dumpster. El Centro police was called in. Sergeant Jeff Mason said his department investigated, but could not connect the parts to any crime. Mason said they were all badly burned. They were given back to the fire department for disposal. Chief Wilson said no injuries were reported in the fire. He said damage was contained to the dumpster.
