Dui Checkpoints going up tonight

(The quest to rid the roadways of drunk or impaired drivers continues)….The Avoid the Ten Coalition will be out in force for the rest of this month, at least. Tonight the Coalition is setting up a DUI Checkpoint on Highway 86 at Legion Road in Brawley. The officers will be stopping vehicles at the checkpoint from 8:00 tonight through 2:00 Friday morning. Saturation patrols will be conducted throughout the City of Brawley tonight. A DUI Checkpoint will be set-up in El Centro Saturday at 8:00 pm. Also Saturday, saturation patrols will be conducted in Calipatria and Westmorland. Avoid the Ten is a Coalition of Law Enforcement Departments throughout the County. Their operations are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Coalition says DUI Checkpoints and saturation patrols will continue through Labor Day.
