Drug sweep in Brawley and Calipatria Thursday night

(A Calipatria woman is arrested and her five children are taken into protective custody)…The Imperial County Narcotics Task Force and Imperial Valley Street Interdiction Team conducted a joint sweep in the North end Thursday night. Assistant N T F Commander John Moreno says the sweep resulted in the arrest of 8 individuals in Brawley, on various drug related charges and parole violations. The sweep also led the agents to a woman in Calipatria. Suspicious activity was alleged at the house in the 500 block of California Street. The home of 37-year-old Lilliana Graham and her five children. A search warrant was obtained, and agents went into the house. They found drug paraphernalia, and Graham was under the influence. She was placed under arrest for maintaining a house where drugs are used, being under the influence, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment. Moreno said the conditions in the house were deplorable. He called in Child Protective Services, and they took the children into protective custody. The children range in age from 1 to 12 years. The C P S says the children were taken to a local shelter, and Moreno says Graham was taken to the County Jail. He said agents also arrested the woman’s nephew, Alan Drew. There was an outstanding warrant against Drew for Brandishing a Firearm.
