(Drunk or impaired drivers be aware, you are being watched)….The Imperial County Avoid the 10 Coalition is cracking down on drunk drivers. A special effort by the Coalition is being made through Labor Day Weekend to greatly reduce drunk drivers on the local roadways. In El Centro, a DUI Checkpoint will be set-up at 4th and Adams. Also in El Centro, a saturation patrol will be cruising the streets looking for drunk or otherwise impaired drivers. Saturday the Coalition will conduct saturation patrols in Brawley, Calipatria and Westmorland. A DUI Checkpoint will be set up Saturday at Cole Road and R.Frontera in Calexico. The Coalition is made up of Police Departments around the County. It is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
