County joins San Diego in developing plan

(Imperial County to participate in Interstate 8 Strategic Plan)….The County Board of Supervisors agreed this week to join Dan Diego in developing the Interstate 8 Corridor Strategic Plan. The San Diego Association of Governments asked that Imperial County participate in the Plan, to address issues the two Counties have in common, such as the border infrastructure. SANDAG has been talking about the Plan since 2005, when members of the Association traveled to Imperial County to study the Corridor. Pacific Municipal Consultants will be contracted to put the plan together, at a cost of $149,997. The funds will be paid through a California Department of Transportation Grant.
