Consumer Affairs to discuss Humane Society

(Humane Society issues to be clarified)….The local Humane Society facility was closed recently. The only reason ever given was a permit problem. Animal treatment was never a concern, but there are apparently administrative issues. At least one complaint was made to the Department of Consumer Affairs, and they requested the permit clarification. Tuesday the Department will hold a public meeting to address all the issues concerning the Humane Society permit and animal control. The meeting will be held at the Department of Public Health on Broadway in El Centro. It is scheduled to start at 9:00 in the morning. It is anticipated that officials will announce when they plan to allow the facility on Pico Road to reopen.
