(If you look for the Congressman Tuesday, he will be reading to the kids)….Congressman Bob Filner will be in Calexico Tuesday. He will be at the Clinicas De Salud Del Pueblo, supporting their Reach Out and Read Program. As part of the program, Doctors at the Clinicas send their young patients home with free books and advice for their parents to read to the children everyday. As a former educator, Filner says he understands the importance of sharing a love for reading with children at a young age. The Congressman will be at the Clinicas on West Cole Road at 11:00 am Tuesday morning. |
