Calexico, California - U. S. Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender Monday night near Calexico. At about 9:00 PM agents at the El Centro Station Remote Video Surveillance System ( RVSS ) detected two illegal aliens crossing the All American Canal about two miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry. Field agents quickly pprehended the pair. A record check showed that one of the two had been arrested in April of 1994 in Buena Park, California and later convicted of lewd acts with a child and sentenced to three years in prison. That individual is being held in Imperial Couny Jail on charges of re-entry after deportation as an aggravated felon.
