(Chocoholics may want to stock up)….It is being reported the Candy Cottage may be closing its doors.

The Wisteria Candy Cottage has been selling chocolates and other candy confections for 87 years off old Highway 80, near Boulevard. A family dispute is apparently threatening to close the candy store by the end of this month. The current operator of the Candy Cottage, Dana Eacobellis, says she has been unable to negotiate a buy-out with her sisters. She has been negotiating since their mother passed away two years ago. She says she is not giving up hope a deal can be made, but for right now she is planning on shutting the doors to the former old school house on July 30. Eacobellis says another problem is the high cost of fuel. She says with the gas prices what they are, it is making it more difficult for customers to drive the long distances to purchase boxes of chocolate. She says travelers are less likely to drive off Interstate 8 to buy candy.
