(Calexico Police investigate an apparent murder/suicide)…..The tragic incident occurred at around 1:00 Wednesday afternoon. Police were called to a house in the 100 block of John F. Kennedy, responding to a report of shots being fired. When they arrived, they made a grizzly discovery. A man, two year old child and a dog were found shot to death. The man was identified as 29-year-old Saul Pacheco Burquez. Investigators say they believe Burquez shot the family dog, his daughter and then himself. The preliminary investigation indicates Burquez had attended family court Wednesday morning. The hearing was to decide custody of the children in a bitter divorce case. Investigators say Burquez came home from court and, sent his sister shopping. The child apparently did not want to go. Moments after the unidentified sister left the residents, shots were heard, and police were called. Police continue to investigate the tragic incident |
