(Calexico City Council moves forward with plans for the La Jolla Palms Retail Center)…At their meeting Tuesday night, the Council approved the resolutions and waived the first reading of the ordinance needed to form the Community Facilities District and incur bonded indebtedness.

The special District will allow the Council to pursue the funding needed for the new Retail Center. Also at the meeting, the Council agreed to send an agreement to the local School District. The agreement is for the use of school facilities, such as the Gymnasium, swimming pool, etc., during the summer for public use. The agreement will go to the School District. The District may make changes to the agreement, and it will come back to the council at a future meeting. The Council agreed to install a gas line on Vega Street. Residents on that Street will pay for their individual connections to the new gas line.
