(Calexico Mayor to give State of the City Address)…Mayor John Renison will deliver the annual address next week, January 9, in the City Council Chambers. The Mayor says he expects to speak for about 20 minutes on issues concerning the past year and a look forward. Renison said he will stress Economic Development and the need to increase the tax base for the city, specifically the industrial base. The Mayor said he would also address public safety, and the new leadership in the Police Department. Renison said recently appointed Police Chief Jim Neuhjar and the Department will focus on city code enforcement, as well as address the Graffiti problem in the city. The State of the City Address will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday evening.
