Calexico, Ca. - Border Patrol Arrests Another Sex Offender

Late Tuesday evening United States Border Patrol agents arrested a convicted sex offender that entered the U.S. Illegally .The man was taken into custody after crossing the border about a mile west of Calexico, California. Record checks revealed that the man had been deported to Mexico in June of 2007 after being convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault in Cook County, Illinois in April of 2002. He had been sentenced to six years for that crime. He is currently being held in Imperial County Jail pending charges of re-entry after deportation as an aggravated felon. Since May 1, 2008 the El Centro Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol has apprehended 11 convicted sex offenders.
