(Calexico bicyclist hit by a car, and barely escapes being hit again)….Calexico Police say the incident occurred in the 1100 block of Camino Real at around 12:20 Saturday morning. They say the bicyclist was riding alone on the street, when a vehicle drove directly at him. The unidentified man was run over by the vehicle. Police say the vehicle then turned around and came back at the victim. The injured man was able to crawl out of the way, and the vehicle drove over the bicycle. The vehicle then drove away. Investigators suspect the incident was not a random hit and run. They say they believe the injured man knew his assailant, but he is not talking. The victim was airlifted to a San Diego area Hospital in serious condition. Investigators say they are withholding the victim’s identification for his protection. They are continuing to search for the suspect and the suspect vehicle. |
