KXO RADIO - Cab Fares to go up in Calexico

(Taxi rates are going up in Calexico)…The City Council Tuesday night held a public hearing to consider the increase request. The three cab companies in the border city said the increase was needed to cover the increased fuel costs. When the hearing was over, the Council approved the one-dollar increase. The fares will go up to $5.00 for trips within the City limits. They are currently $4.00. The new fare will go into effect in 30 days. The increase will put the Calexico Taxi’s on a par with the cabs in El Centro.
