Burglary suspect arrested

(One suspect is in custody, Police search for a second)….El Centro police responded to a burglary call at around 8:00 Saturday night. The call came from an auto shop in the 200 block of Main Street. Using the video surveillance equipment in the shop, police were able to observe the suspects. One of them was found at around 11:00 that same night at the AM/PM store on Fourth Street. He was identified only as Diego Ortiz. Police say they found evidence of the Main Street burglary as well as items from another burglary in the suspect’s vehicle. Ortiz was booked into County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property and a parole violation. Investigators say further charges may follow as the investigation continues. A second suspect is still outstanding. There was no information released on that person.
