(Judge binds Ascencio over for trial)….Superior Court Judge Barret Foerster determined Tuesday that there was enough evidence to try Frank Ascencio.

The 22 year old was arraigned on murder charges Tuesday. Ascencio is accused in the murder of his three-year-old nephew and the attempted murder of his one-year-old niece. The Brawley man reportedly went on a rage September 18 after his mother tried to get him to leave her “H” Street apartment in Brawley. Investigators testified the defendant took his rage out on the children because of his dislike for them. Ascencio’s teenaged sister was also cut in the incident as she tried to defend the children from the stabbing attack. Ascencio will be back in court on November 19. He remains in custody with bail set at $1 million
