KXO RADIO - Brawley man crashes his vehicle while being stabbed

(A 29 year old is stabbed several times, apparently for just being a nice guy)….Brawley Police Sergeant Perry Monita says Anthony Baeza and his buddy decided to give a couple guys a ride at around 8:00 Tuesday night. Monita says as they drove in the 600 block of Abel Velasco, the man sitting behind Baeza began to stab him in the back of the head and shoulder area. The Sergeant says Baeza accelerated the vehicle, and his friend in the front seat tried to steer the vehicle, as Baeza tried to fend off the attack. The vehicle crashed into two other vehicles, but they were able to drive to Imperial Avenue, where Police were contacted. The suspect and his friend were able to escape. Baeza was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center. Monita says the wounds turned out to be superficial. The Sergeant says the victim may have known one of the suspects, and investigators are trying to identify the other man. Monita says neither suspect has been arrested.
