(Brawley Council agrees to rate increase)…The Brawley City Council made their decision following a Public Workshop Tuesday.

While the ordinance adopted will increase rates for some, for others rates will either go down or remain the same. The City has been installing water meters for some time in order to charge for water consumed instead of a set sum. According to the new ordinance minimal water users, 225 gallons per day, will see the decrease in their bills. Those using 400 gallons per day are not expected to see a change in their bills. The increase will be for those using 600 gallons of water per day and more. The state requires all metered utilities to charge according to usage by January 2010.
