(A Dedication Ceremony will be held Saturday)…The event is to celebrate the continuation of State Route 78/111 Brawley Bypass and the Dedication of the Victor V. Veysey Expressway.

Expected to attend will be Caltrans Director Will Kempton, State Senators Denise Moreno Ducheny and Dennis Hollingsworth and other elected representatives. The ceremonies begin at 10:30 Saturday, at the east junction of Highway 78/Highway 111, just east of Brawley. The public is encouraged to attend the event that has been years in the making. The State Transportation Committee recently approved the $49 million needed for phase two of the project. The Brawley Bypass is designed to route truck traffic around the City, eliminating congestion in Brawley and allowing for a free flowing corridor through the County heading north.
