(Border Patrol to the rescue)…..Yuma Sector Marine Unit makes the rescue Friday.

At just after 6:00 pm the Yuma Sector office was notified recreational boaters on the Colorado River appeared to be in distress. According to the report, a small boat with two children and four adults appeared to be trapped against a rock barrier. The barrier stretches across the River from Yuma to Andrade, California. The River currents in that area are reportedly swift and turbulent as the water flows through and over the rocks. The Marine Unit was able to safely transfer the children to their Patrol boat. They were transported to the shore. The Border Patrol agents went back to the distressed boat and towed it to safety. The recreational boat was not damaged, and the occupants continued boating, uninjured.
