U. S. Customs and Border Protection ( CBP ) Border Patrol will hold a Citizens Academy in Imperial , California. Volunteers are being sought to participate in the Academy that will start September 25, 2008 and meet every Thursday for four continuous weeks. The academy is a training and orientation program that will allow members of the community to learn more about the Border Patrols mission and responsibilities. Participants will meet from 6:00 pm till 9:00 pm at the El Centro Sector Headquarters at 211 W..Aten Road in Imperial. Topics will include Anti-Terrorism Efforts , Field Operations , Search and Rescue and Use of Force Policy.The course is free. All candidates will be subject to a cursory law enforcement background check to include a criminal history.
