(Video surveillance catches smuggler in the act)…The U.S. Border Patrol says at 9:00 Monday morning the cameras observed a person loading what appeared to be duffle bags into a mini van.

Agents responded to the area, about 5 miles east of Calexico, one mile north of the All American Canal. The Agents located the mini van, and they kept constant visual contact of the vehicle as it made its way to Highway 98. The mini van eventually stopped after a spike strip was laid down, puncturing the vans four tires. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Inside the van agents found 45 bundles of what later tested positive as being marijuana. The marijuana had a total weight of 514 pounds and has an estimated value of over $400,000. The marijuana, driver and vehicle were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
