(El Centro Border Patrol says good-by to National Guard troops)….Ceremonies are being held Thursday to bid farewell to the troops participating in Operation Jump Start.

The Operation was ordered by the President to bolster the International Border until 6,000 new Border patrol Agents could be hired. The Operation was initiated in July 2006. It composed of four major task forces for the El Centro area. The local Border Patrol says the task force personnel were instrumental in assisting the El Centro Sector Border Patrol personnel in securing the national border. The local sector says Thursday’s ceremony was to honor the soldier’s hard work and tireless dedication to duty while deployed with Operation Jump Start. The Farewell ceremony was held at the El Centro Sector Headquarters on Aten Road.
