(Body of missing camper found)…Deputy Coroner Tommy Garcia said 55-year-old Mark Allen Darwin was reported missing October 29. The Cabazon resident had reportedly walked away from his campsite trying to find a signal for his cell phone. He never returned. Thursday a person fishing in the Coachella Canal reported spotting a body in the Canal about two miles north of Highway 78. Garcia says the body was identified as that of the missing camper. The Deputy Coroner says indications are that the body had been in the Canal since the 29th. An autopsy is being conducted today to determine the exact cause of death. |
