Body found near Winterhaven

(The heat may have claimed another victim)…..Sergeant Charles Lucas of the County Coroners office says a body was found in the desert Friday. Lucas says the unidentified male body was discovered near close to Highway 80 and Gordon’s Well, near Winterhaven. The Sergeant says the man, listed as a John Doe, may have been an illegal immigrant. He said it appears the man died as a result of heat related complications. Lucas said an autopsy would be performed Tuesday to determine the cause of death. The Mexican Consulate in Calexico is assisting in efforts to identify the man and notify his family.
