(Sheriff’s Department holds annual fundraiser)….The numbers are not in, but from the looks of the crowd, it appeared the fundraiser was a success. Once a year the Department holds a Pit Barbecue fundraiser for their Volunteers. The Funds collected are divided amongst the Volunteer service organizations. This year organizers were prepared. Not only did they have plenty of food, but at least two flat screen televisions were set up and broadcasting the San Diego Charger/Oakland Raider football game. The proceeds from this year’s event will go to the De Anza Search and Rescue, Sheriff’s Reserve Officers, the Sheriff’s Athletic League and the Sheriff’s Explorers.
