(Baja California official’s clean house)….The Attorney General for the State, Rommel Moreno Manjarrez, said 129 were being let go.

The Officials said 90 municipal police officers have been dismissed, along with 34 employees from the Attorney General’s office, including 17 investigators and 17 prosecutors, four members of the Baja California state preventive police, and one state prison custodian. The Attorney General said the reasons for the dismissals ranged from administrative infractions to accusations of torture, falsification of documents and crimes against the administration of justice. Baja’s Secretary of Public Safety said those fired would be monitored to ensure they do not turn to the local Drug Cartel’s for support. Daniel De La Rosa said the dismissed employees names are being distributed around the other Mexican states to ensure they are not hired in another Governmental position. The dismissals are reportedly part of an on-going effort to root out corruption in the Mexican Government.
