(Art is coming to the County)…Tuesday the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution declaring October 3 as California Arts Day.

The Chairman of the Board Gary Wyatt said the reason he asked for the declaration was to support a project. Wyatt said he has asked Assistant CEO Andy Horne to seek local Artists who would like to display their work in the Board Chambers and throughout the Administration Building. The Chairman said it would enhance the appearance of the building and allow the local artists an opportunity to display their work. District one Supervisor Victor Carrillo suggested the displays be open to the local schools, as well. Horne said he would be obtaining several easels to mount the artwork. He said the displays would rotate, allowing for more artists and schools to display their work. District 3 Supervisor Joe Maruca was concerned with the liability issue. Horne said that was something that could be worked out.
