(AWC Day of Champions is Saturday)…Every year the Arizona Western College Conducts the special day.

During the Day of Champions, athletes at the College do something good for their community. They do not just work in Yuma. The College extends its Community to Imperial County. For the past few years at team of athletes travel to El Centro and do volunteers work at the Red Cross office on Broadway. Last year they painted the building and washed, inventoried and stocked the Red Cross Response Vehicles. Sylvia Preciado, manager of the Imperial Valley Service Center, expects a team of 5-6 AWC athletes this year, as well. The team will be working at the Center from 7:45 to 11:45 in the morning. Red Cross Board members and other volunteers are expected to be on hand to assist and possibly work with the team during the 4th Annual Arizona Western College Day of Champions.
