(Could the Public Utility Commission be listening?)….When the P U C asked for public comment a few weeks ago, the general consensus was that the decision to change the local area code was a foregone conclusion. Locals submitted their comments, anyway. The Public Utility Commission has reacted. Commissioner Simon asked that the issue be removed from the early April agenda for further review. No other reason has been given for Simon’s actions. It has been placed on the Commissions April 24 agenda. Neither Simon nor his staff have been available to discuss the issue. Gary Redfern of Dynamic Communicating is following the P U C action. He says no explanations have been given, but he is maintaining contact with the regulatory commission.
