(5.1 quake rumbles through Mexicali and Imperial Valley)…Another moderate earthquake struck at 10:29 Monday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake measured 5.1. The epicenter was 21 miles South/Southeast of Mexicali. This quake is the latest in a series of quakes that have struck the same general area since Friday night. At 11:12 Friday night a quake, measuring 5.4 was felt in Mexicali and almost all of Imperial Valley. As far north as Niland. Calls from Yuma, Arizona were also received. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the latest quake. Broken windows, cracked buildings and merchandise thrown from store shelves were reported as a result of the original event.
