(Border Patrol nabs another convicted sex offender)….Agents made the arrest Thursday morning near Ocotillo. El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested the individual after he entered the United States illegally by walking across the international boundary, about 27 miles west of Calexico. Record checks determined the suspect had been convicted of a felony charge of Lewd and Lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age. The subject had previously been deported from the United States. He was booked into Imperial County Jail on a new charge of re-entry after deportation as an aggravated felon. This arrest brings to 16 the number of convicted sex offenders apprehended within the El Centro Sector since May 1, 2008.
