(Autopsy on remains scheduled for Friday)…The skeletal remains of what appears to be a male were discovered Tuesday.

Border Patrol agents found the remains in the mountains along the Jeep Trail at Mile Marker 6, an area known for heavy illegal traffic. Deputy Coroner Henry Proo says the remains were recovered Wednesday morning. He says all that was found on the remains was a telephone number in one of the pockets of the pants found on the deceased. Proo also says it appears the person had been dead no more than two months. The coroner’s office is trying to decipher the phone number. Proo says it is hoped the number will help identify the person. The autopsy will possibly reveal other details surrounding the deceased person, including how he died. For now, the remains are being listed as John Doe.
