Amendment to Governance Manuel, not yet

(Imperial Irrigation District General Manager says he wants to look over the amendment first)…..The amendment was suggested by IID Director Mike Abatti and backed by Director James Hanks. The amendment would be to the Governance Manual and it would deal with the Project Management Office. Abatti says the amendment is needed to provide a more expansive definition of oversight. He said the issue has been on hold for much too long. Abatti said projects have gone unchecked and over-budget and miss-information from staff. General Manager Brian Brady said he agreed with the idea behind the proposed amendment. Brady said, however, the proposal may be overly broad and could inhibit his management ability. He asked that not action be taken until he could review the amendment and come back with his own recommendations. Abatti said it was now time to address the issue and he moved for approval of his amendment. He was supported by Hanks, but not anyone else. The Rest of the Board backed the GM and voted against the motion. Brady will bring his recommendations back to the Board in 30 days.
