(Imperial County not the only ones with ballots left over)….It is being reported more than 2.7 million remain to be counted in the state. The ballots are left over from the November 4 Elections. Like Imperial County, the statewide ballots are absentees, provisional and damaged ballots. Officials say the 4th Congressional District, the 19th state Senate seat and the 10th Assembly District could all be changed when the left over ballots are counted. In Imperial County, over 11,500 ballots remain to be counted. Local officials say the outcome could change almost any race that was on the November ballot. The only exception would be Measure D that was approved by 83% of the vote. The state election officials say they have until December 2 to count all the ballots. Imperial County Registrar of Voters Dolores Provincio has said she expected a final tally on or before November 21. She has said the canvassing process must be complete within 28 days of the election. The ballots will be certified at the end of the canvassing process. |
