(Particulate Matter reaches unhealthy levels, again)…The 24-hour average of PM 2.5 reached unhealthy levels early Wednesday morning.

The Air Pollution Control District says the 24-hour average reached unhealthy levels for sensitive people at just after mid-night at the Calexico East monitoring station. PM 2.5 is a finite dust in the air. The APCD says it is created by border activity. They are attempting to convince the EPA to classify the border area separately from the rest of the County. The current classification routinely brings Imperial County out of compliance on Particulate Matter, when the increased levels are mostly in the one area.
