The County signs a new helicopter service.)….The service, Reach Air Medical Services, will provide air ambulance service to both El Centro Regional Medical Center and Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley.

The County Board of Supervisors agreed to the new service Tuesday. The Public Health Department Emergency Medical Services Agency said the new service will augment the service at E C R M C, but will replace the service at P M H. They said Mercy pulled their helicopter out of service to the Brawley facility after they heard the agreement was imminent. They told the County there was not enough traffic to support two air ambulances in the north end. The Health Department said this agreement means for the first time both hospitals will be services by the same air ambulance.
