(Border Patrol Agents seize over 1400 pounds of marijuana from a stolen pick-up)….Customs and border Protection officials say Monday the agents spotted the Ford F-150 drive illegally into the United States near the Imperial Sand Dunes.

The agents followed the pick-up onto Interstate 8. They say the pick-up headed west on the Interstate. The agents determined the vehicle was stolen, and they attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver of the pick-up failed to yield, and the agents laid down a spike strip. This brought the pick-up to a stop, without injuring anyone. A juvenile was found to be driving the vehicle. In the bed of the pick-up agents found 280 individually wrapped bundles of marijuana weighing 1,437.9 pounds. The marijuana was valued at over $1.5 million. Agents say the juvenile driver is a Mexican citizen. He and the seized marijuana were turned over to the drug Enforcement Administration. The stolen vehicle was turned over to the California Highway Patrol.
