U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the downtown Calexico, California port of entry arrested a 22-year old Mexican citizen and seized 60 pounds of cocaine Monday morning. Officers at the busy port had referred the woman and her vehicle to secondary inspection after a narcotic sniffing dog alerted to the 2008 BMW. An intensive examination of the vehicle located specially built compartments in the rocker panels of the SUV. Inspection of the rocker panels revealed 22 wrapped packages of cocaine weighing 60 pounds and having a value estimated at nearly half a million dollars. The woman, a Mexicali resident , was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The vehicle was seized by CBP.
